Needle exchange (consultation on the draft scope)

Consultation on the draft scope for guidance to encourage the optimal provision of needle exchange schemes amongst injecting drug misusers.This consultation will take place between Friday 26th October and Friday 23rd November 2007.Please provide all responses to this draft scope using the Stakeholder Comments Form (ensuring all relevant fields are completed, including your organisation’s full name) and forward this by 5pm on Friday 23rd November 2007 at the very latest to the following email address: needleexchange@nice.

Rheumatoid arthritis (refractory) - abatacept: (final appraisal determination)

After considering the feedback from consultation, the Appraisal Committee has prepared a Final Appraisal Determination (FAD) on Abatacept for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and submitted it to the Institute. The FAD has been sent to the formal consultees for this appraisal who have 15 working days to consider whether they wish to appeal against it.

Registered stakeholders for the surgical management of OME guideline are invited to comment on the provisional recommendations via this website. Although individuals and organisations not registered as stakeholders are able to comment, we recommend that you contact the registered stakeholder organisation that most closely represents your interests and pass your comments to them.

The Interventional Procedures Advisory Committee (IPAC) draws on the best research evidence available to advise NICE on the safety and efficacy of new interventional procedures, such as new surgical, endoscopic and radiological techniques.  NICE uses the recommendations of IPAC as the basis for its guidance on new interventional procedures to the NHS in the whole of the UK.

All registered stakeholders for NICE public health intervention guidance on reducing rates of premature death in disadvantaged areas are invited to comment on the draft summaries of the evidence to inform the development of the guidance. The focus of the guidance is the role of proactive case finding, retention and access to services in tackling health inequalities by improving service use and compliance in groups in disadvantaged areas with a higher than average risk of premature death.
